Wise leaders know prioritizing mental health and workplace wellbeing is both caring and smart business practice. But you're busy. You don't have time to become an expert. Not, to worry.
I'm a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional, with twenty years clinical and group facilitation experience. I also have extensive training and experience in Gender Based Violence, leadership training and experience as a Clinical Supervisor and member of a non-profit management team, front line staff and am a graduate of Leadership Waterloo Region.
Public speaking experience includes: small and large groups, panel discussions, virtual and local workshops, local, provincial and national conferences, virtual webinars for the Gottman Institute, Consent Parenting and Experience Advisors and a featured guest on podcasts and local media.
Having recovered from compassion fatigue and burnout, I am passionate about providing a brave and engaging space for personal and group reflections and empowerment through a variety of storytelling, research based approaches and exercises.

"Nicole is an incredible facilitator. I asked her to have an uplifting and positive session with my staff and they and Nicole knocked it out of the park. Nicole created a terrific atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable discussing both their own and other's successes. I was looking to remind my staff of how much they are valued as members of the organisation as well as having their own intrinsic value. With questions, prompts and examples, Nicole afforded us the chance to see each other as more than roles and positions. It was the best investment in my staff that I have yet made. As a not for profit, the amount was utterly reasonable and more than worth it." Oct 2022

"Nicole thank you for creating such a supportive and welcoming space for us all to share and reflect.
The learning and resources are so very helpful.
Initial feedback from staff was overwhelmingly positive. They shared feeling grateful for the validation, the thought and detail that went into this discussion and the gentle reflections."
Re: Trauma Informed Workshop "Care for Caregivers" Oct 2021

Feedback from Participants from Conestoga College

"1. Educators understanding the triggers of behaviours of trauma has allowed educators to be more supportive and empathetic to their children. Actively trying to stay away from re-traumatizing.
2. We have been able to support more families with these needs given the information shared with us.
3. Educators are setting up classrooms that are welcoming and support children’s sense of belonging.
4. Staff wellness and advocacy for what staff need has been more evident (path of recovery)
5. More collaboration to support decision making
6. Empowerment support in all areas of the department to help with resilience and building on staff capacity." - Kristina Lyman, RECE Director of Child Care Services, YWCA Cambridge
