Psychotherapy for Sensitive Women:

Managing and Reducing Stress & Anxiety and Burn Out

Easing Transitions - Grief & Loss; Job Changes; Ending of Relationships and Pregnancy Loss

Managing and Reducing Stress & Anxiety and Burn Out

The back side of a woman walking. Background of reflective sunset with hues of yellow and blue sky.

Are you longing to get your energy and peace back?

Sensitive people are more impacted by stress and sensory overwhelm. Knowing how to respond effectively to stress can make a huge difference emotionally, physically and in our relationships. I love providing psychotherapy for sensitive women that combines stress counselling with coaching on mind/body coping strategies to embody safety and self-soothe.

Together, in our anxiety psychotherapy sessions, we will work to identify the purpose of your anxiety, reduce it's intensity and empower you to embrace uncertainty with growing courage and confidence.

Are you looking for a compassionate witness to hold space for your pain as you learn to live with loss?

While all change requires a grieving process and both gentleness and courage, my psychotherapy for sensitive women recognizes how transitions impact HSPs. There's no time line for grief but together, honouring your pace you can learn to safely be with your emotions, honour what you need and work towards finding peace with what is and opening up to what is possible moving forward.

Two outstretched arms with a large dove and several smaller birds flying in the pink, purple sky.

Are you an aspiring, new or seasoned helping professional longing for someone to care for you?

It is an honour to be a helping professional but it can take a toll on your sensitive soul. You spend all day caring for others, bearing witness to emotional or physical pain. You deserve to be cared for too. Being new in the field can feel exciting and overwhelming. Together we will lay down these burdens, work to protect and reset your nervous system and boundaries and harness the transformative power of vicarious resilience. My stress counselling and burnout prevention work draws from my own recovery from secondary trauma and burn out and Compassion Fatigue Certification. I also have supervision and leadership training and experience.

Highly sensitive women deserve to work with someone who understands the gifts and challenges in being highly sensitive. Drawing on 20 years clinical experience and ongoing professional development, my sessions are Client Centered and Strengths Based. I draw on : Attachment and Conscious Parenting Theory, Information Processing Theory, Interpersonal Neuropsychology and the research of relationship experts, Drs. John and Julie Gottman. And in the last few years I have received and learned with high end coaches which I incorporate into my work.

In my psychotherapy for sensitive women, I use concepts and practices from training in: Mindfulness, Mindful Self-compassion, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work, Narrative Therapy, Polyvagal Informed Therapy and Trauma Informed therapy.

Nature Therapy

A group of trees with sunlight peeking through. Dirt and smaller plants in the foreground.

I've been dreaming of walking and talking with my clients for years. Every time I step outside, a sense of peace washes over me and that's my hope for you too.

Research shows even a ten minute walk can boost our moods.  Time in Nature can help to soothe the nervous system and improve physical and emotional health. This is especially important for us HSPs.

My anxiety psychotherapy and stress counselling includes movement whenever possible as it is essential for completing the stress response cycle, regulating emotions and being in optimal health.

Our first session will always be virtual and we can do a combination of outdoor and virtual sessions.

Walking sessions are available (weather permitting) along a scenic, stroller friendly Grand River trail. Some weekend sessions will be offered.

Secure Your Spot

The mind can go in a thousand directions but on this path, I walk in peace.
